The 5 steps, with a tip for you

  1. Say goodbye to friends
  2. Collect shared toysParent tip: One child — one zone.
  3. Return other people's thingsParent tip: Check that nothing got mixed up.
  4. Clean up the table or snack
  5. Show the room to an adult

Make it a quest instead of a reminder

Instead of repeating the instruction, start with a tiny story. In Mess Monsters this routine opens like this: “Toy Titan saw a fun playtime and now wants to bring order back. Shall we clean up after friends?”

You stay the game master. Your child does the real step, you confirm it on your phone, and Toy Titan gets a little happier with every step. The phone stays with the adult; the routine happens in the real world.
