The 4 steps, with a tip for you

  1. Take a brush

  3. Brush all the hairParent tip: Short pauses help.
  4. Tie the hair if neededParent tip: Ponytail, clip, or nothing — whatever is comfortable.

Make it a quest instead of a reminder

Instead of repeating the instruction, start with a tiny story. In Mess Monsters this routine opens like this: “Bathroom Bubble tangled their little hair. Shall we brush it gently and without rushing?”

You stay the game master. Your child does the real step, you confirm it on your phone, and Bathroom Bubble gets a little happier with every step. The phone stays with the adult; the routine happens in the real world.
